Voting open in the Environmental Finance Voluntary Carbon Market Survey

February 20th, 20128:56 pm @

Environmental Finance is conducting its annual survey of the voluntary carbon markets, polling its readers on the leading project developers, traders, brokers, advisors, verifiers and other service providers active in these markets.

We are inviting nominations from participants in the voluntary carbon markets, which we define as any activity to create and trade carbon offset credits outside of regulation or legislation – including pre-compliance trading or voluntary market sales from regulated projects.

Environmental Finance has been carrying out surveys of the world’s environmental markets since 2000, and this is the third year that we have carried out a dedicated survey of the voluntary carbon markets, separately from our long-running and much broader Annual Market Survey in the December/January issue.

Last year, Evolution Markets was voted Best Broker, while Vitol took the Best Trading Company crown. ICF International pipped PwC as Best Consultancy, and Baker McKenzie won Best Law Firm.

First Environment of the US won the Best Verification Company category, pushing DNV into second place, while South Pole Carbon Asset Management was voted Best Project Developer.

The results will be published in the April edition of Environmental Finance, accompanied by in-depth analysis of the voluntary carbon markets.

Click here to nominate. Polling closes on 5 March.
