Banks, tech shares drag Wall Street lower

NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. stocks pared gains on Thursday, with the SP 500 and Nasdaq Composite negative in morning trading as bank and technology sector shares weighed.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI gained 24.74 points, or 0.19 percent, to 12,781.70. The SP 500 Index .SPX dipped 2.48 points, or 0.19 percent, to 1,323.58. The Nasdaq Composite .IXIC fell 6.45 points, or 0.23 percent, to 2,811.86.
