A 15-year-old schoolgirl feared kidnapped after police released CCTV footage of her on a train with a mystery man has been found safe and well in Leeds by West Yorkshire Police.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of abduction after Margaret Moloney went missing from her home in Godalming, Surrey, four days ago.

Video emerged showing her travelling with a stranger on Wednesday on a train departing from Woking, Surrey, that went to Basingstoke, Hampshire.

The man she was with had bought tickets to Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, which is 100 miles from Margaret’s home and officers believe the pair went there together.

Inspector Blaine Rafferty, from Surrey Police said: ‘I want to thank the public and media for their phenomenal support in sharing our appeal to trace this missing teenager, however I now must ask for Margaret and her family to be given the privacy and space to come to terms with what has been a very difficult time for everyone involved.’

Police said Margaret did not have any known links to the Cotswold town and thought she could have caught another train or got off the train at a different station.

After being reported missing, described her as a slim, white girl, about five foot five inches with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a navy blue hooded rain coat, dark bottoms and white trainers.

The muscular-looking man was believed about six foot and wearing a burgundy long-sleeve top, black knee-length shorts and carrying a back pack.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: ‘CCTV images released today show Margaret with a man on a train from Woking to Basingstoke.

‘The man bought tickets for Moreton-in-Marsh in Gloucestershire, and they are believed to have caught a train in that direction.

‘Margaret doesn’t have any known links to that area, and it is possible that she may have caught another train or got off the train at a different station.’
